Rob’s distinguished career began in the classroom, with 28 years as an educator teaching civics classes at Box Elder High School in Brigham City, with a brief period at Ben Lomond High School in Ogden. While teaching, Rob was elected as a member of the Utah House of Representatives, where he served for 16 years. During his tenure, he held significant roles including Majority Leader and Speaker of the House, demonstrating his unique leadership style and legislative skills.
In 2002, Rob transitioned to the national stage, winning election to the U.S. House of Representatives as the Congressman for Utah’s First Congressional District. He served in Congress for 18 years, during which he served on the powerful House Armed Services Committee, influential House Rules Committee, and was appointed as Chairman of the crucial House Natural Resources Committee. His decades of service and leadership positions have provided Rob a respected network of influence and deep legislative understanding.
