Rahel Getachew is a seasoned senior executive with over 15 years of experience in designing and leading comprehensive country promotion strategies. She leverages strategic foresight and cross-cultural expertise to design and implement innovative solutions that enhance national reputations, strengthen international partnerships, and drive sustainable economic growth. She specializes in elevating national profiles through integrated branding, digital diplomacy, and economic development initiatives that attract investment, tourism, and trade.
Currently, a Director of Marketing and Comunication of an aviation security company in the US, Rahel reports to the CEO all responsibilities including the company’s image, brand visibility and media relations. As Founder and Managing Director of Afrolehar LLC, Rahel partners with governments, investment agencies, and international organizations to craft and implement tailored country branding campaigns. Her strategic approach leverages multimedia platforms, targeted stakeholder engagement, and public diplomacy tools to enhance global visibility and promote sustainable economic partnerships. She also develops and executes integrated brand marketing strategies for organizations in technology, education, and health sectors, helping to amplify their global presence through tailored digital campaigns, media partnerships, and stakeholder engagement. Rahel’s expertise extends to advising on digital outreach and communication strategies that amplify a client’s strengths and value propositions in competitive global markets.
Fluent in English, French, and Amharic, and proficient in Spanish, she is an accomplished speaker and panel moderator, Rahel has delivered keynote addresses and led discussions at prominent events including the International Stability Operations Association, Africa Tropics Summit, Global CitiBank Africa Network, USAID roundtables, and the Woodrow Wilson Center. Her topics focus on country branding, economic diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and global trade.
In addition to her speaking engagements, Rahel is an experienced producer and host of multimedia content, including the “US-Africa Relations: A Time for Reset” series on Africa Prime, corporate fundraising videos, and documentary projects showcased at international conferences.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Business minor from Concordia University and an executive education certificate in Neuroscience for Business Decision-Making from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Rahel is a member of the National Press Club, Ladies of Distinction, and Women in Foreign Policy.
